The Beaches Of Agnès 2008
Plot Synopsis
"Memory is alike a swarm of confused flies," said Agnes Varda. Having made her mark in this world for nearly eight decades, Varda invites us to join her for a trip down the memory lane. Through old photographs, archive footages, set pieces that re-enact key moments from her life and interviews, Varda tells us about the making of her first film in 1954, her friendships with Godard and other New Wave filmmakers, her breakthrough success Cleo From 5 To 7, and her marriage to Jacques Demy. Shining through each scene are her impish charm, inventiveness, and natural empathy. This is a celebration of a life well-lived by the "little old lady, pleasantly plump", as she once described herself.
